What is Trivial?

Free Quick-Fire Football Trivia Quiz

Trivial is a free football trivia game built for speed. Ten questions, one two-minute clock, three lives — no long-form quiz here, just a fast, pressure-packed sprint through transfers, trophies, tactics and football knowledge from across the game.

The format is simple and unforgiving: answer all ten questions before the two minutes run out, and do it without losing three lives along the way. Knowing your football helps, but so does staying calm and quick under the clock. No downloads, no sign-up, completely free to play.

  • 10 Questions, One Round

Every round throws ten football questions at you — transfers, trophies, tactics and more — pulled from across the game so no two rounds feel the same.

  • Beat The Two-Minute Clock

The whole round runs on a single two-minute timer. There's no time to overthink a question — answer fast, keep moving, and watch the clock the whole way through.

  • Three Lives, No Safety Net

You've got three chances across the round. Three wrong answers and it's over, however many questions you had left to go — every guess has to count.

  • Speed Meets Knowledge

Trivial rewards fans who are quick and correct. Racing the clock with lives to spare takes more than football knowledge — it takes composure under pressure.

How to play Trivial

  1. Step 1

    Start the clock

Hit start and the two-minute timer begins straight away — it doesn't pause between questions, so be ready to move fast.

  2. Step 2

    Answer question one

Ten quick-fire questions are lined up covering transfers, trophies, tactics and general football knowledge. Answer as quickly as you can.

  3. Step 3

    Watch your lives

Every wrong answer costs one of your three lives. Get three wrong and the round ends immediately, wherever you are in the ten.

  4. Step 4

    Keep the pace up

Correct or incorrect, the round keeps moving — there's no going back to a previous question, only forward against the clock.

  5. Step 5

    See your result

Finish all ten, run out of lives, or run out of time — whichever comes first — then check your score and how fast you got there.

The two-minute sprint

Most football quizzes let you take your time. Trivial doesn't. With ten questions to clear inside two minutes, you've got roughly twelve seconds a question if you want to finish with time to spare — and that's before factoring in the three lives that can end your round early. It's a format built for fans who want a genuine test, not just a casual scroll through easy questions: fast recall, sharp instincts and a cool head under a visibly ticking clock.

What the questions cover

Every round of Trivial pulls its ten questions from across the football world — record transfers, trophy winners, club history, tactical setups and the kind of detail only genuine fans remember. Because the question pool is broad and the round length is short, every playthrough of Trivial feels different, keeping the format replayable well beyond a single round.

Trivial tips & strategy

  • Answer on instinct — Trivial rewards speed, so trust your first read on a question rather than second-guessing against the clock.
  • Bank the easy ones fast — questions you're certain of should cost you almost no time, leaving more of the clock for the harder ones.
  • Know when to guess — with the clock running, a quick educated guess often beats freezing on a question you're unsure about.
  • Protect your lives early — a careless wrong answer in question two costs the same as one in question nine, so don't rush into guesses you haven't thought about at all.
  • Play it more than once — question order and topics shift between rounds, so replaying sharpens both your speed and your recall.
