What is the Formation Builder?

Free Football Formation Builder

The 433Lab Formation Builder is a free tool for putting together and visualising a football lineup, from 5-a-side all the way up to a full 11v11 team. Pick a squad size, choose a formation that fits it, and lay out your team exactly the way you see it lining up on matchday.

Once your shape is set, make it your own — choose whether players show up as circles, club-style badges or full kit shirts, set your team colour, then add every player's name and kit number. When you're done, download the finished formation as an image to save or share. No downloads to install, no sign-up, completely free to use.

How to build your formation

    Start by picking how many players are on the pitch, from 5-a-side up to a full 11-a-side team.

    Pick a formation

    Select the shape you want your team to line up in — the available formations adjust automatically to match your chosen squad size.

  3. Step 3

    Choose a player style

    Decide how each position is displayed on the pitch — simple circles, club-style badges or full kit shirts.

  4. Step 4

    Set your team colour

    Pick the colour scheme for your kit so the lineup matches your actual team, club or five-a-side crew.

  5. Step 5

    Name your players

    Add each player's name and kit number to their position on the pitch, building out your full lineup position by position.

  6. Step 6

    Download and share

    Once your formation is complete, save it as an image so you can share it with teammates, post it online or keep it for matchday.

Formations for every squad size

A back four and a front three doesn't mean much in a 5-a-side game, and a five-man midfield doesn't fit an 11-a-side pitch.
