Free Guess The Player By Club Badges Quiz

Career Clues is a free football guessing game built entirely from club crests. Every round lines up the badges of the clubs one mystery player has represented, in the order he played for them — your job is to name him using nothing but that career path.

You start with just one badge. Guess wrong, or want more to go on, and the next club in his history is revealed alongside it. The fewer crests it takes you to name the player, the better your score — so this is as much a test of football knowledge as it is of reading a career story badge by badge. No downloads, no sign-up, completely free to play.

  • Read The Club Badges

Every round shows a row of club crests in order — the real career path of one mystery player, from his first senior club through to wherever he plays now.

  • Guess Club By Club

Start with just one badge revealed. Get it wrong and the next club in his history appears, giving you another clue to work with.

  • Fewer Clubs, Higher Score

The earlier you name the player, the higher you score. Nail it off the first badge and you've proven you really know your football history.

  • Careers From Across The Game

Journeymen, one-club legends, loan-heavy prospects and modern superstars — every path is built from real transfer history, so the clues never lie.

How to play Career Clues

  1. Step 1

    See the first badge

Each round opens with a single club crest — the first stop, in order, of a real player's career.

  2. Step 2

    Take your guess

Name the player you think the badge belongs to. You can guess at any point, as often as you like.

  3. Step 3

    Reveal the next club

Guess wrong, or need more to go on, and the next club in his career history appears alongside the first.

  4. Step 4

    Keep tracking the path

Work through the full sequence of clubs — loan spells, boyhood clubs and big-money moves all count — until the story points to one player.

  5. Step 5

    Lock in the name

Get it right and see your score, based on how few clubs it took you to name him, then move on to the next career.

Reading a career path

A player's badge history tells a story most fans never think about club by club — the academy that raised him, the loan spell that made his name, the big move that changed his career, the club he's at now. Career Clues turns that story into a puzzle. Some players give themselves away on the very first crest, a boyhood club instantly recognisable to anyone who follows that academy. Others stay hidden for badge after badge, their path weaving through leagues and loan spells until the picture finally clicks into place.

Real careers, real crests

Every badge sequence in Career Clues is built from genuine transfer history — no invented moves, no shortcuts. That means the game covers every kind of career football has to offer: the one-club legend whose badge barely changes, the journeyman who's worn a dozen different crests, and the modern superstar whose path reads like a highlight reel of transfer deadline day. No two rounds test the same kind of football knowledge.

Career Clues tips & strategy

  • Weigh the badge order — an early career club often points to a specific academy or domestic league, narrowing things down fast.
  • Watch for loan spells — a short stint at an unexpected club is usually a loan year, a strong clue for younger or squad-depth players.
  • Think league-hopping — a career that jumps between countries usually belongs to a player whose move made headlines at the time.
  • Don't anchor on the first badge alone — a shared boyhood club can mislead you before the rest of the path narrows it down.
  • Use the gaps between clubs — a long stay at one crest versus a string of short ones tells you a lot about the kind of career you're tracing.
